The Huruma Orphan Fund has been created to help give opportunities to orphans in need. The Huruma Orphanage is situated in the town of Arusha, Tanzania. The conditions of the ophanage are quite poor and in order to help improve conditions we need your help. There is a number of ways you can help, not just giving money - you can attend functions and events, get together with your fellow employees and employer and hold your own fundraising events. All the pictures of the children are of the actual children from the orphanage. I was a volunteer who lived on the orphanage for 3 months and I have experienced what they have experienced (for a short time). I understand that many people are flooded with different charities and it is hard to know which one(s) to support and I hate to bother people by asking them to donate money. This is why I would rather hold fundraising events and I am also open to suggestions and would encourage you to get involved and make a difference. This organisation is currently in the process of becoming a registered Australian chariety and we will let you know as soon as this process has been completed. We are determined to created a fund that has minimal administration cost (currently $0.00), which can be a problem with many organisations, who would sometimes arrive at the orphanage in a new car to offer a few hundred dollars.
